Evan's American Gourmet Cafe is a New American restaurant in South Lake Tahoe. The restaurant was once a cabin but has been converted into a beautiful eatery featuring dishes such as hoisin and orange glazed prawns and beef with arugula salad. Another New American restaurant to visit is the Edgewood Restaurant. Many of their traditionally American dishes have a global twist on them, so you're essentially getting a taste of dishes from all around the world.

Serving Hawaiian food with an Asian twist, Kalani's is a popular stop among people in South Lake Tahoe. They have traditional Hawaiian food as well as some Japanese dishes.

There’s a myriad of incredible water-themed restaurants when you live on the lake, and Riva Grill on the Lake is one of them! This restaurant serves American cuisine and incredible rum drinks.

 

You'll also run into restaurants that strive for a more classy interior than others in and around South Lake Tahoe, especially when it comes to steakhouses. Ciera Steak & Chophouse serves delicious steak, seafood, and vegetarian meals to its patrons with class. Another elegant steakhouse to try out is the Sage Room. Like Ciera, their interior is quite stunning, though it has a Western twist. Their steak is some of the best you'll find in the Lake Tahoe area.

 

Most of the activities in South Lake Tahoe revolve around the lake it's named after. Lake Tahoe is a beautiful lake that tourists flock to every year, so there are several tours and great spots to view it. There are often helicopter tours in the area that residents can participate in. During these rides, participants learn about the history of the lake and the multiple landmarks around it.

Choose to take a sailing or hiking tour of Lake Tahoe instead. The Mt. Tallac Trail is another great way to get a view of the lake. It is a bit of a hike, but those who have gone on it say it's definitely worth the sight at the end.

Van Sickle Bi-State Park is considered one of the best places to go in the city if you're a nature lover. The trails are marked well and animals are abundant in the area. There's also a beautiful waterfall to get a look at!
