Highland Woods- Is a newer neighborhood by Tahoe standards and is one of very few neighborhoods in South Lake Tahoe with underground utilities. I feel its a great central location with walking trails through the meadow that lead all the way to the lake. The bike path that ran through Al Tahoe also runs through this neighborhood. Most of the homes located here are ranch style with a few larger homes backing the meadow. There is also a small section called Highland Woods PUD (planned unit development) which consists mostly of chalets that belong to a HOA.   

2010- Home prices typically start around $300k and around $275k in the PUD section

Heavenly Valley- Heavenly Ski Resort is the main attraction of this neighborhood. Some home’s in this neighborhood benefit from amazing lake and mountain view, beautiful sunsets, and ski in ski out convenience. There are many large homes throughout this neighborhood however there are still a few smaller cabins and chalet hanging in there.  Bavarian Village is a small section with a real European feel to all the chalets. The village does have a HOA but after a long day on the slopes you can soak in the pool, spa, and hangout in the club house.

Gardner Mountain-   Homes located here are on the north side of the Y and where the terrain is more mountainous. The neighborhood backs up to Forest Service land with many hiking/biking trails up Tahoe Mountain or around to Fallen Leaf Lake. You also have easy access to grocery stores, factory stores, restaurants, and other establishments located at the Y.  South Tahoe High School is located in this neighborhood.

Echo View Estates- One of the smaller, quant neighborhoods in South Lake Tahoe. Very few homes have come on the market in the past in this neighborhood. Sawmill pond is about a half mile away which is stocked with fish in the summer and a great place to take the kids to learn to fish. This neighborhood is located just outside the city boundary.

Al Tahoe - Is one of the oldest neighborhoods in South Lake Tahoe. I actually grew up in this neighborhood and my mother still owns a house here so I know it well. Regan Beach and El Dorado Beach are two public beaches within a few blocks of each other. Regan Beach is one of very few beaches in Tahoe that allows dogs in designated areas. A little local beach is located at the end of Lakeview ave called (Hidden Beach). At the other end of Lakeview ave starts Harrison ave where you will find many local restaurant hot spots and other small businesses. The bike trail also runs through here and continues all the way to Baldwin Beach past Camp Richardson off hwy 89.

 Centrally located, only about a mile to Heavenly Ski Resort and the casino’s.  Homes range from tiny rustic Tahoe log cabins to multi million dollar homes on the lake. Prices typically start around $250k
