Y Area- One of the first neighborhood you will cross coming in the the City of South Lake Tahoe. When you are traveling from the west on hwy 50 you will come to the Y as it is known locally. Is the junction  where you can go right and continue into the city or if you go straight you continue on to North Lake Tahoe. Raley’s shopping center and the factory stores are located in this area. There has been talk in the community of eventually redeveloping the area along hwy 50  to be more pedestrian friendly and visually appeasing.  Barton Community Hospital along with many professional entities are located here.
