Christmas Valley1 & Christmas Valley 2 - One of the first neighborhoods you’ll cross coming into South Lake Tahoe coming from Sacramento. One half of Christmas Valley is on the west side of the Truckee River with the other half on the east side between hwy 89. South Upper Truckee road runs all the way through Christmas Valley 2 and comes out at the bottom of Luther Pass hwy 89, its a very scenic drive if you have the time. Christmas Valley 1 is directly off hwy 89. There is a little section here called Rainbow Tract that is along the river and is owned by the United States Forest Service where a bunch of US Forest Service Cabins reside… occasionally one or two come on the market as land leases.
